Artist Description
Krispen Hartung transforms and re-architects the sound of the acoustic guitar, incorporating real-time loops, avant-garde melodies, and ethereal sounds. His compositions test the boundaries of popular music art by combining unpredictable and spontaneous composition with melodic appeal.
| Artist History
Krispen Hartung’s musical background is an experimental and continuously evolving road trip marked by many excursions and detours - from formal classical guitar instruction at age 12 to axe slinging, technical progressive rock in the 80s…and from art rock and fusion in the 90s to traditional jazz and avant-garde in the new millennium. Hartung now exhibits a dynamic and atypical performance style that integrates multiple genres and gives new meaning to the world of improvisational guitar. His solo CD Places was released for sale in April of 2004 and is now accompanied by a bizarre and experimental music video DVD production Microscopic Horrors, featuring excerpts of his CD over live video of microscopic organisms.
