| One of the great things about growing up in
Seattle...especially being directly involved in the music scene as a musician, was that I
was able to meet lots of fantastic bands, musicians and really cool people. I wrote
a review on Phat Sidy's second CD release party
at the end of January, and I've been keeping in close contact with them for the upcoming
release of their newest CD (which I already have a copy of..heh heh) Subrabae available
at HotBands CD store and select store around Seattle on April 1st, 1999. I've known several members of Phat Sidy for a number of years. Saw them when they were first forming and recording the first tracks of Platos Grande Rehearsal in Kaya's basement, but the finished product and the BAND totally took me off guard when I saw them. These guys kick it old school playing the best clubs in Seattle as well as the major outdoor venues. The song "Make It Legal" was ranked #1 of High Times Magazine's "Pot 10", and if you are an advocate of legalization, or just a lover of R&B and Funk, Phat Sidy is a MUST for your CD collection!
