Going by the name of "Manipulator", this one-man project from Rostov-on-Don Russia is cutting his teeth at the early age of 18 with two CD's and a growing fan base online.

His official homepage (totally in Russian) wasn't much help to me, and his lyrics (also totally in Russian) left me wondering "What is he saying?" but the MUSIC and the ENERGY was unmistakeably live, well mixed, and fun to hear.

His Bio says he started his carreer in the middle of 1999, and is currently the most perspective artist of the Break Beat scene in Russia.

His first singles were added to local artist compilations, and sold in South Russia at the end of 1999. During that period his songs were played by the local radiostations in Rostov-on-Don. He also part in several live shows at the clubs and Sports Palace of Rostov.

Of the tracks available to hear at his MP3.com site, "Nothing but the..." and "Rhythmical Movings (A totally instrumental song)" had some Phat bass playing showing that Manipulator and his band are rhythmically all over it, and got it goin' on.

Because I don't understand any Russian, he escaped any type of scaything critique on his lyrics ! :-)

I'm definitely interested in watching this young man's career over the next few years, and expect to see him touring the Euro-circuit soon.
