I took a listen to the tracks from 'Jeza Wined Up' a few times as well as read his biography to get the flavour and mood of the artist before I sat down with electronic pen to critique his work.

A native of London, Jeza has been writing songs for over 25 years and his poetry is matched by complimentary arrangments. His songs range from smooth jazz to pop but all with a strong folk foundation. Similar artists could be Paul Simon, Cat Stevens or David Crosby.

Ironically, Jeza's band broke up as this CD was being made. His bassist Luciano Albo, had to move back to Brazil, so tracks were laid and Jeza continued to work on finishing this project. With artist from several other projects assisting Jeza, the final copy of the CD was mastered and released several years after it was started, but songs like 'Place by the River' are a great example to show how the extra time went into an excellent product.

Jeza definitely has long-term potential if he can produce another CD like this one.
