This may be the first time I've reviewed anything of this sort on Hotbands.com. Jorn Lavoll's music is listed as 'World/Tropical', but with noticeable classical music influences and structured use of layered samples, Lavoll's CD 'ambientness' is as close as you can come to creating a genre of its own.

A freelance composer, Lavoll has created audio compositions for multimedia productions, television documentaries, theatre productions, flash and other Internet media. He has released two CDs of 'his own' music through mp3.com and has had a whopping 42,000 total plays to date.

As close as I can compare, ambientness sounds like it could have been composed and produced by the genius Japanese composer, Kitaro. I listened to all of Lavoll's tracks at his mp3.com page and my mind was taken to other worlds. Haunting yet tranquil, 'ambientness' brings meditation music to the next level.
