Tushar Parte - Mumbai, IndiaDesigner Bliss - CD Review by Pat Ferris One of the biggest challenges and also biggest rewards of creating a world-wide music site is finding quality music and reviewing it based on the musical arrangement, ability of the artists and/or lyrics...regardless of musical genre or language differences. Today, I found Tushar Parte and his wife and vocalist, Suchita Parte, from Mumbai India. Tushar, son of acclaimed Indian arranger Jai Kumar Parte, is a professional studio guitarist, and has played for several Hollywood films, as well as performed on world tours with Indian music legends Asha Bhnosle, RD Burman and Pankaj Udhas. Their first CD, 'Designer Bliss', combines blends of of mystical sanskrit shlokas, exotic ragas 'n colorful folk, with subtle modern music. The Parte's are presently collaborating with artists of different backgrounds from around the world, who in turn are seeking for exotic rare blends. Designer Bliss is a mystical trip into the culture of Indin music. Traditional Indian music performed on traditional Indian instruments, and sang in their native language, in some ways made the review in a lot of ways easier, since I wasn't distracted by the lyrical content of the music. Their CD is professionally engineered, and the music sets a mood with odd time signatures (odd for western music), enchanting sounds and mesmerizing vocals.
