Boston based band Lovewhip, is a new group setting the pace in New England's world-beat music scene.

Fronted by guitarist/singer Erin Harpe, Lovewhip is a six-piece ska influenced band. Complete with a horn section (Sax, Trombone), each band member plays a small role to create a full, but not over-played sound. Lovewhip's world-pop dance music grabbed my attention and literally changed my mood in a matter of seconds.

Their debut CD, Whip it baby! has had radio airplay throughout the Northeastern United States, with songs currently featured in MTV's original TV show, Undressed. The upbeat feel of Whip it baby! received many notable reviews and helped launch a successful 2001 with over 120 performances. Their follow-up album Bouncehall is scheduled to be released on Juicy Juju Records in April 2002.

From the first impression, Lovewhip is fun, fresh and ideal for putting you in a dancing party mood. If Bouncehall can capture the essence of Whip it baby!, and if the band can keep up the rigorous schedule they've had over the past year, Lovewhip has the potential of being a major mainstream ska band.
