Orlando Flordia band Olive Carpet is breaking ground with their debut CD Do You Know Who I Am? released in 2001 has drawn national attention, getting the band 60+ shows on the college circuit as well as numerous appearances at major metropolitan venues. After receiving an email from their promotions manager, I checked out their online press pack. Their website is packed full of information and professionally created. The song samples were partials from each of the tracks from their new CD. I was unable to find full cuts at HotBands.com or MP3.com, but the partials give the listener a sense of the power and presence that is making Olive Carpet a household name in the alternative rock market. Their video downloads are all professionally filmed and produced, showing Olive Carpet performing for VERY large audiences and setting them apart as a band that is not only producing good music, but is creating their 'image' and utilizing the full extent of the Internet to translate this image. Lead vocalist and songwriter for Olive Carpet, Daniel Creach, has a created a band and image that could be compared with Creed, Matchbox 20 or even U2, but they really are a band with a sound all their own...great vocals, harmonies, songwriting and musicianship.
