Mark Easton Limousine - Sydney, AustraliaCoast to Coast - CD Review By Patrick Ferris Australian bluesman Mark Easton has gathered a new bassist and drummer to form a blues powerhouse called Limousine. A veteran guitarist and vocalist from seven bands dating back to 1979, Easton has been featured on 16 albums. The release of Limousine's debut CD Coast to Coast in November of 2002, shows Easton hasn't lost an ounce of energy and is only more refined, yet raw with his sound. Coast to Coast displays Easton's talents as frontman, guitarist and songwriter, with six tracks of blistering blues rock, reminding me of early Elvin Bishop. Blow It All Away was my favorite of the tracks available, with interesting time changes in the bridge, a great groove, good lyrics and exceptional slide guitar work. Coast to Coast has already (unsurprisingly) received airplay and a number of reviews across Australia and EuropeSince recording Coast to Coast, Easton has brought in guitarist and former bandmate from The Candy Harlots, Peter Masi and has begun incorporating acoustic 'unplugged' sessions into their set. Limousine's follow up CD is scheduled for release in June of 2003. For more information on Mark Easton Limousine, CLICK HERE |
