Moses Guest - Houston, TXMoses Guest - Houston, TX
Guest Motel - CD Review
By Patrick Ferris

Houston jam-rockers Moses Guest came through the Pacific Northwest last month to perform to an enthusiastic crowd at one of the summer Seattle Peace-Concerts on the tail end of a grueling summer tour across America.

Moses Guest had already established a fan base in the Southern and Mid-Western USA prior to the release of Guest Motel, their first full length CD since the debut of their award winning self-titled double-album in 2002. Since then, Moses Guest has enjoyed sold-out performances in many different cities across the United States, and Guest Motel recently was the #1 AAA Add at CMJ and the #18 College Add at CMJ. A total of 36 stations already have Guest Motel in rotation.

Moses Guest - Guest Motel

Guest Motel is an excellent assortment of ballads and rockers, rich in lyrics and full in sound. Moses Guest lead singer/guitarist Graham Guest's gritty voice and introspective lyrics are the foundation of a great Southern jam-band that has crossover appeal for many different music genres. The opening notes of their first track, Preposterous Box immediately associates one with their previous CD based on their unique sound, but I found that overall, this album was more developed in both lyrics and musical arrangements, branding Moses Guest as a band that matured to surpass their own benchmark first release. There wasn't a song on the album that wasn't worthy of praise, and each track was like opening a new chapter in a book you can't put down. Two thumbs up to Moses Guest for another exceptional release.
